The Tata Power Company Limited (BSE: 500400, NSE: TATAPOWER) announced that its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has commissioned a 300 MW solar project in Koppal, Karnataka.
- The project was developed by TP Saurya, a wholly owned subsidiary of TPREL, for the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
- It is expected to generate 810 MUs of renewable energy annually and mitigate 103,820 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
- The installation uses TP580HG10NB bifacial modules combined with solar trackers.
- Following the commissioning, TPREL's operational capacity stands at around 7.2 GW, part of a total renewable utility portfolio of 12 GW.
The commissioning of 300 MW marks solid operational delivery for TPREL and adds ~810 MUs annually, generating an estimated ₹200-250 crore in recurring revenue. However, against Tata Power's consolidated TTM revenue of ~₹63,445 crore and a massive >26 GW total pipeline, a 300 MW addition represents an incremental ~1. 1% capacity expansion.
